Albert XL 🇦🇷

Background

Albert XL is an Argentine DJ currently based in the Traslasierra region of Córdoba Province. His musical identity is deeply rooted in the melodies and grooves of Progressive, Organic House and Deep House, though he frequently ventures into the evocative atmospheres of Melodic Techno.

His sound is a synthesis of diverse influences, ranging from the legendary compositions of Pink Floyd, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, and Gustavo Cerati, to the deck mastery of DJs such as Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Miguel Migs, Hernán Cattaneo and John Digweed.

Origins and Early Development

Born in Buenos Aires in 1970 into a family of folklorists, music has been Albert’s primary language since childhood. By the age of 12, he was already exploring vinyl records by Earth, Wind & Fire, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd, while spending his nights absorbing new sounds through the influential radio program Modart en la Noche.

At 13, a visit to the Le Paradis matinee—a landmark club in southern Greater Buenos Aires—marked a turning point in his life. Seeing the DJ in the booth, Albert realized he wanted to be in that exact position, recreating the same profound sensations he felt while listening to those tracks. Applying his technical studies from high school, he began building his own equipment, starting with cassettes and eventually assembling a custom rack with two direct-drive turntables.

Professional Career

Albert began performing at social events at age 15. By 17, he secured his first professional opportunity at the renowned club Metro, where he placed a needle on a record for the first time in a club setting. Those initial 35 minutes of mixing laid the foundation for his future career. During his university years, he joined a production team alongside Fabián and Guillermo, which led to performances at major events held on the Nicolás Mihanovich and Atlantic vessels in the Port of Buenos Aires.

Evolution and New Horizons

Following a period dedicated to his family—during which his passion for music was passed down to his children, both of whom became violinists—Albert made a definitive return to the industry. In 2013, while living in San Luis, he began uploading his sets to Mixcloud, receiving an overwhelming response that encouraged him to continue producing.

In 2020, he joined the Elektronaradio family, which opened doors to international platforms such as MuthaFM (South Africa) and Blaqhol Radio (USA). For over a year, he hosted his own weekly show, Full Of House, featuring guest artists such as Vik Benno (UK), DJ Jade (South Africa), and Pablo Carmona (Argentina).

Current Status and Future Goals

Albert has performed across various stages, including events in Rosario alongside artists like Juan Álamos, Tomas Elias, and Ema Brizuela, as well as the Bronx electronic music cycle in Córdoba. Today, he continues to collaborate with various radio media as a guest artist while maintaining an active presence on Mixcloud, SoundCloud, and YouTube.

His objective remains constant: to continue learning from his peers, to explore new stages, and, above all, to ensure that the audience truly connects with and enjoys his art.
